Wie bereits angekündigt, wird die Band Marinero aus Los Angeles um den kreativen Kopf #JessSylvester am 14.02.25 ihr neues Album „La La La“ weltweit via Hardly Art auf CD/LP/DSPs veröffentlichen.
Das 12-Track-Album enthält die zuvor veröffentlichten Singles „Taquero“ und „Cruz“ sowie die heutige Single/Videoauskopplung „Sea Changes“.
„Salsa music was a genre that was played in my home growing up, but it wasn’t a style that I had ever written or performed. It was not easy, but writing and recording Taquero was a sort of fun challenge which allowed me to delve deeper into my Fania record collection and also work with my friend Eduardo Arenas from Chicano Batman. He and many other talented LA based musicians really brought this sound to life.Thematically, this is a love song for taqueros. I wanted to write something fun spirited by using double entendres, or my attempt at a Mexican artform referred to as the „albur“. Life can be stressful enough and I just wanna give people an opportunity to dance or laugh or hopefully both.“
